I will never forget the holidays where Peter would just turn up, normally when we stayed in Dorset. He would arrive, bundle me and sometimes the others and we would drive to the beach. He even attempted to get me to swim in the freezing waters.
He would always sleep in his car, too concerned that his nightmares would wake us too.
